WE'RE AT A Pivotal MOMENT FOR REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM IN AMERICA.

STATE ABORTION ACCESS NETWORK

Municipal elections, community mobilization, and state legislatures now determine their own abortion and reproductive health laws.

SAAN ENSURES THAT ESSENTIAL State-Based Activism

CAN THRIVE

The State Abortion Access Network (SAAN), a fiscally sponsored project of the Hopewell Fund, is a ground-up network that will strengthen and support state-based reproductive advocacy nonprofits.

SAAN allows member organizations to focus on what they do best – reproductive health, rights, and justice advocacy – while creating field-serving infrastructure that will make state-based work sustainable for the long-term. SAAN will elevate and support its members by providing financial, programmatic, and operational assistance to facilitate collaboration and fuel a state abortion advocacy movement.

SAAN provides state-based reproductive advocacy organizations with essential and durable tools, resources, and mutual support to do their best work.

STATE ABORTION ACCESS NETWORK

Advocacy
Collaboration

Our values embody our commitment to empower leaders closest to the issues, and to flip the historic top-down dynamic that is no longer productive in a post-Roe world.

We are dedicated to advancing equity and dismantling systems of oppression in reproductive freedom. Challenging racism and discrimination is integral to our mission, and we promote inclusive leadership and respect diverse voices. Our work is rooted in love and justice, aiming to create an environment where abortion access and reproductive freedom is guaranteed for all.

COLLABORATION & MUTUAL SUPPORT

We foster an environment where ego takes a back seat to collective goals. We share resources and knowledge and support one another in tackling our individual challenges, cultivating a culture of abundance.

TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY

We prioritize radical transparency and inclusive decision-making. We set our priorities from the ground up, staying accountable to our members.

EMPOWERING RESILIENT LEADERSHIP

We believe strong state-based advocacy organizations are charting the path to reproductive freedom. We embrace our role in this movement, and we develop, strengthen, and support its leadership.

SUSTAINABLE CHANGE & IMPACT

Our network is focused on catalyzing sustainable change and impact to advance reproductive freedom. SAAN works to ensure that existing and emergent state-level organizations have the tools, resources, and supportive spaces they need to engage in reproductive advocacy for the long term.

THE FUNDING HAS BEEN SUPER HELPFUL, BUT MORE THAN ANYTHING I APPRECIATE THE SUSTAINED RELATIONSHIPS WITH MY COLLEAGUES IN OTHER STATES.

I CAN'T IMAGINE DOING THIS WORK WITHOUT THEM.

I HOPE SAAN CONTINUES TO KEEP US TOGETHER, AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING OUR RANKS GROW.
